The Plaza de Calderón will host this Saturday an original street show that will commemorate the 30th anniversary of Teatro Guerra (29/01/2019)

The Councilor for Culture of the City of Lorca, Agustín Llamas, has presented the special show to be held next Saturday, November 2 at the Plaza de Calderón to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the War Theater and which will start at 9:00 p.m.

Llamas has announced that "through a party of light, music, dance and fireworks we want to celebrate this special anniversary for the city of Lorca as it is the thirtieth anniversary since the doors of the War opened again with the performance of Maya Plisetskaya in 1989. There have been 30 profitable years of dance, music, theater, opera, classic or innovative shows, great names of the scene and new creators, ... in short, 30 years of culture that deserve a participative and surprising spectacle ".

The anniversary will be starred by the prestigious company La Fam Teatre, known in Lorca for having staged the lights of Christmas lights of 2016 and 2017. As for the proposal this Saturday, it will be an open show, very original and that has been created expressly for the occasion.

As it could not be otherwise, the War Theater building itself will be the protagonist of the show, turning all the action around it.

During 45 minutes diverse scenic arts will shake hands, surprising the spectators and forming a vibrant and varied show.

There will be live music performed by a band on a stage installed for the occasion, acrobatic numbers and aerial dance.

The memory of these 30 years will be the leitmotif of the function for what will be projected historical images of both the shows and the protagonists of the 3 decades.

You can also visualize a mapping on the facade of the War and the cake will be blown, before concluding with fireworks.

Llamas has encouraged "all friends of the War and all Lorca to enjoy this special celebration that has to be a joyful and participatory party, as commemorated by the reopening of our Theater." The reopening of the War in 1989 was a milestone for the culture of Lorca and for all the residents of this city, but above all it was the tool for the cultural development of the municipality during the last 3 decades.War is today one of the most important cultural spaces of the Region of Murcia and from the southeast of the peninsula, as shown by the programming we are enjoying during this quarter, which deserves a celebration at the height, like the one we are going to experience this Saturday.
