Its construction has been adjusted to the needs expressed by the users themselves, generating a large open room, air-conditioned and free of barriers.
The Mayor of Lorca, Fulgencio Gil, supervised the entry into operation of the new premises for the use and enjoyment of the collective of women from the district of La Pulgara.
It is a new property that is attached to the traditional local women who serve in Pulgara.
It has dimensions of 100 m2 and is a new construction, which has been designed to meet the needs of the group in question.
For this purpose it has been executed in such a way that the entire space is transparent, providing mirrors to part of its walls, according to the needs transferred by the women of Pulgara for the development of their usual workshops of physical activity, sport and fitness
With the construction of this new social facility, the Mayor, Fulgencio Gil, fulfills the commitment acquired with the women's collective of La Pulgara to provide the parish with a property in which they can develop their multiple initiatives in an appropriate manner, since the date had to use other facilities that did not have the ideal characteristics.
The new location, which is also equipped with air conditioning system, has double access so that the women of Pulgara have the possibility to use it well through the previous location, or independently.
This installation replaces the previous building, the old school of Pulgara, which presented multiple space limitations, now counting with a large room free of partition walls to be used by a collective that groups more than 100 users and makes different workshops thanks to the support of the Plan + Mujer of the City Council, which this year has registered an increase in its municipal investment of 25%.
With the new facilities, women will avoid, for example, having to establish double shifts to carry out their activities, allowing new social promotion initiatives to be carried out in a more comfortable way.
Fulgencio Gil said that this new location for women has involved a municipal investment of 47,190 euros, and the works have been executed by a Lorca company.
Our goal is to continue making progress in making Lorca women available to the spaces, equipment and activities they need, since we are talking about a collective whose daily work contributes decisively to the progress of our society.
Lorca enjoys a wide associative fabric very involved in the daily life of our citizens, with whom we collaborate periodically with the common goal of achieving an egalitarian society.
