The PSOE requests that the declaration of Puntas de Calnegre be processed as an Asset of Cultural Interest to provide a definitive solution (05/02/2019)

Diego José Mateos: "The City of Lorca has to lead the neighbors, ask the Autonomous Community to resume this procedure that should serve to give us more strength, more arguments and more grounds to get the pardon of Puntas de Calnegre as the town number 13 in Annex I of the Coastal Law "

The candidate for Mayor of Lorca, Diego José Mateos has asked to resume the declaration of Puntas de Calnegre as an Asset of Cultural Interest, with ethnographic character, whose processing expired in 2013, since this way would be "essential" to give a "greater foundation "to justify the amendment of Law 2/2013 and get the" pardon "to the village, to protect it" as is ", although currently" there is no intention of executing any enforcement order against the homes of Puntas of Calnegre ".

Mateos has announced that the PSOE will ask the City of Lorca to urge the competent administration, the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia, to resume the procedures to achieve this cataloging, after the previous attempt, begun in 2010, expired in 2013 "without success".

The spokesman of the PSOE has ensured that, after the amendment of Law 2/2013 was not achieved, to include Puntas de Calnegre among the urbanizations and towns with similar or worse characteristics that were pardoned at the time, and that he remembers " was impossible because of the vote against the Popular Party in Congress and the abstention of Unidos Podemos, "now from the PSOE" we open a new way, since we will not stop until we achieve the goal that is none other than to save these neighbors of this sword of Damócles ".

Mateos has informed that this "alternative", which he considers "viable", arose during a working meeting in Murcia, in which he was able to participate along with representatives of the neighborhood platform in defense of Puntas de Calnegre and representatives of the Coastal Demarcation.

"We need a strong argument to get the inclusion of Puntas de Calnegre among the towns that received the pardon at the time, and where Puntas was not included in an unfair manner."

An inclusion that, insists, "is justice" because it considers a "discrimination" that was not included at the time.

Diego José Mateos has insisted that "it must be the City Council that urges the Autonomous Community, as the competent administration, to resume this declaration and work in this direction, since the necessary requirements are met to recognize Puntas de Calnegre as a Good of Cultural Interest, with ethnographic character, given its singularity and importance, since at the time three large population groups coexisted linked to the existing mining in the area, and also to agriculture and fishing ".

"I am convinced that this statement will serve as a basis to have more strength, more arguments and more grounds for the Ministry of Ecological Transition to proceed to initiate the procedures for amending the Coastal Law, given that the administrative route is already exhausted," Mateos aims.

Insists that "all requirements are met, so it is a matter of will, that is why we want the agreement of the Plenary, which we are sure we will achieve, to ask the Autonomous Community to support this request and get down to work in recognizing this declaration of Puntas de Calnegre as BIC ", as a previous step to subsequently modify the Coastal Law.
