406 Lorca have already benefited from the project "Young Employment Lorca" (06/02/2019)

The City Council has developed 46 training actions for young people in just 18 months, including multiple work areas ranging from the socio-health field, to new technologies, including embroidery in silk and gold, upholstery, painting and trade.

The Mayor of Lorca, Fulgencio Gil, along with the council of Local Development, Sandra Martinez, has delivered this morning to students who have participated in the training activities framed within the project "Young Employment Lorca" of their corresponding training diplomas and , where appropriate, of the Professional Qualification documents.

We are talking about a program that has an investment of € 1,873,453.40, and for which this City Council got a grant from the European Social Fund amounting to € 1,721,516.30, being the contribution of the Consistory € 152,099.27 .

The First Edil explained that the project "Young Employment Lorca", which began on December 4, 2017 and ended in June 2019, is one of the most ambitious initiatives in terms of training that have been developed in our municipality.

Proof of this is that a total of 46 training actions have been launched, in a period of 18 months.

The total number of beneficiaries of the project amounts to 451. Of the 406 young people who have completed their training to date, 119 have found a job and as of today continue to work.

This data means that 29.31% of young people have achieved their job placement.

We must also take into account that of these, 43 have rejoined the regulated educational system, either through training cycles of medium or higher, and even to the completion of university studies, assuming this figure a 10.59 % of the total.

It should be noted that 45 students will remain in the training period until June, which correspond to the latest editions of the actions of computer security, basic kitchen operations, basic restaurant and bar operations, auxiliary operations of assembly and maintenance of systems microinformatics, as well as English B2.

Fulgencio Gil has stated that in the training activities, in addition to the specific learning in the chosen specialty, the participants have received instruction in subjects such as English, new technologies, gender equality and basic training (for those students who have not completed their studies). ESO).

This process is completed with workshops on active job search and work experience in companies, a phase in which a total of 120 companies in our region have collaborated.

The courses have lasted between 3 and 8 months, depending on the specialty in question.

The students have received, for assistance, a scholarship of € 200 per month.

For the development of the project, it has had a technical team composed of 6 employment technicians, 4 basic training teachers, 2 English teachers and 1 teacher of new technologies, in addition to the monitors that provide the specific training.

The training actions whose process has been concluded have been the following:

Health care to dependents in social institutions.

Auxiliary operations of assembly and maintenance of microcomputer systems (3 editions).

Local tourist promotion and visitor information.

Basic operations of restaurant and bar (3 editions).

Promotion of free time educational activities for children and young people (2 editions).

Basic kitchen operations (3 editions).

Auxiliary activities of commerce.

Arrangements and adaptations of garments and articles in textiles and leather (2 editions).

Embroidery in silk and gold (2 editions).

Basic locksmith operations (2 editions).

Auxiliary operations of continuous cladding in construction.

Computer security (2 editions).

Auxiliary activities in nurseries, gardens and gardening centers.

Geriatric assistant.

Plumbing.

Maintenance of spaces and public roads.

Auxiliary operations for furniture and wall upholstery.

Painter of buildings.

Recovery of degraded areas.

Restoration of furniture, gold and polychrome.

Auxiliary hairdressing services (2 editions).

Sociocultural Animator

File assistant.

Assistant of museums.

Office Assistant.

Dependent of commerce.

English B2 (5 editions).

Administrative and general services.

First aid in aquatic facilities (2 editions).

The Mayor stressed that one of the examples of action that has been given the opportunity to execute thanks to the development of this employment program has been to provide the 5th floor of the Local Development Center a new and modern multipurpose space for the development of all kinds of events.

Taking advantage of the fact that works had to be carried out to improve the waterproofing of the exterior area, a new waterproofing with flexible elastomeric material has been implemented and a floating hydraulic tile floor has been placed.

A new metallic structure equipped with thermal insulation has also been installed, closing the new room with aluminum profiles and anti-thermal glass.

The students of these workshops have been in charge of all the intervention, including the painting and placement of their own LED lighting system, in addition, of audiovisual equipment, electrotechnical and telecommunications installations).

The work has had a total investment of 57,100 euros and has been done in just 3 months.
