An area of ​​290 m2 will be adapted, which will have its own direct access for the users of the hospital center, as well as an internal connection with the rest of the building.

The Town Planning Councilor in the City of Lorca, María Saturnina Martínez, has reported that this municipal area has granted a License to the Murcian Health Service, dependent on the Autonomous Community of Murcia, to undertake the works of adaptation and expansion of spaces destined to Computerized Axial Tomography (CAT) and Magnetic Resonance, in the Rafael Méndez University Hospital.

Satur Martinez stressed that these works will be carried out on the first floor of the aforementioned hospital center.

According to the project presented in Urban Planning, the adaptation to the TAC will be executed in a room in which a conventional X-ray machine is now installed. The extension intended for magnetic resonance will be carried out in an L-shaped space. which has one of its ends direct access to the street and the radiology area of ​​the hospital, without unevenness in the areas of works, all of which will facilitate accessibility to hospital users to these new facilities.

The mayor of Planning has anticipated that the area for TAC will have a useful area of ​​100 m² and will have the following facilities: access, recovery and waiting rooms, control and command, technical, examination, clothing and patient preparation and personal clothing.

The magnetic resonance area, meanwhile, will have an area of ​​189 m² and will include the following dependencies: access hall, lobby, preparation and control and command rooms, technical, examination and toilets.

It should also be noted that the total investment to be developed by the Murcian Health Service in this project amounts to a total of € 719,948.

The execution of these works will allow the provision of these services so demanded by the City Council in our hospital, with a modern and practical machinery, which will undoubtedly serve to increase the quality of health care that will benefit Lorca and the entire area of health in which our city is located, responding to the demand for services presented by the Municipal Consistory.
