The expansion works of the Juan Navarro Garcia de La Hoya school, in Lorca, which will benefit more than 550 students, enter its final stretch, since 60 percent of the performances have been carried out.
The Minister of Education, Youth and Sports, Adela Martínez-Cachá, visited the center today to see the status of the works that have been carried out since last summer and that are scheduled to end at the end of April.
The actions, which have a budget of 518,433 euros, will mean the elimination of the three existing prefabricated classrooms, which "responds to a historical demand of the families of Lorca, since enough spaces are being built to guarantee the perfect schooling of the students of La Hoya, one of the priority objectives of the regional government in terms of infrastructure, "said the counselor.
The extension includes a new volume of two floors connected to the existing Primary building.
On the ground floor, the extension is intended for the construction of two preschool classrooms;
while the first floor will go to Primary with three new classrooms and a covered terrace that could become a classroom if necessary.
The Educational Infrastructure Plan 2018-2019, endowed with 20 million euros, includes 116 actions in infrastructure in almost all the municipalities of the Region.
Martínez-Cachá said that "this is the most ambitious plan of recent years," adding that "there is no better investment than that which is devoted to education, the true key to change and progress in society."
In addition, for the first time the budgets include a game exclusively for school equipment, worth 1,900,000 euros.
