The Mayor of Lorca, Fulgencio Gil, has reported that the City is firmly committed to the Child Care Center that serves all Lorca in the high districts in La Paca.
In fact during the month of January we have proceeded with the implementation of several improvement actions in its facilities in order to adapt this center to the requirements of the current regulations on safety and accessibility, by placing a new aluminum structure in its patio area equipped with and awning for children to have a shaded area.
It has approximate dimensions of 7x7 meters of base and 2.5 meters high, and is equipped with padded protections on its pillars.
The First Edil, who has supervised the works carried out this week in the company of the Councilor for Equality, Juan Francisco Martínez, has indicated that an artificial turf area (antistatic) has also been placed on the side of the patio, as well as the renovation of the sidewalk to improve accessibility to the center, placement of vertical edge protections in corners and columns, replacement of the existing skirting board, placement of fingers in doors (hinge area), installation of bulletin board, mailbox suggestions, identification sign, installation of timbre, reform of wooden doors to access the toilets, placing a fixed glass to allow visibility.
The economic investment made by the Department of Equality for the implementation of the reform indicated has amounted to the amount of 12,320.91 euros, which are added to another investment of € 14,000 to cover staff costs that has ensured the continuity of the center, since currently only has 9 children.
With this formula we have managed to be open from September to April, assuming from the City Council also the expenses derived from basic supplies such as electricity and water.
The center, built on a municipal plot, has 343 m2 and its construction was possible thanks to the investment of 300,000 euros by the Regional Government.
It is a fundamental infrastructure for the reconciliation of work and family life, being especially important for its location, since the districts of northern Lorca needed to have an infrastructure of these characteristics, a center demanded and that thanks to the Ministry of Social Policy and the City Council of Lorca today is a reality.
The objective of this center is to offer a quality service and attention to children, stimulating global development in the physical, social and educational areas of children, as well as facilitating the reconciliation of work and family life, allowing full incorporation from fathers and mothers to work.
