The candidate for mayor of Lorca, and spokesman of the PSOE in the City Council, Diego José Mateos has given an account of the solutions proposed to various problems of the municipality, through different initiatives to be presented in the next full ordinary.
Mateos will take to the Plenary the voice of the residents of Pedro Montiel Street, in the neighborhood of Santa María, who have been "more than three months" suffering problems in their homes as a result of the breaks in several pipes of the drinking water network.
"There has even been a collapse in the street, in addition to humidity and various conditions in nearby houses."
"The neighbors are increasingly worried, especially after receiving a letter from the insurer Aguas de Lorca indicating that the break has occurred in an enclosure belonging to a private property, when in fact it is in the public domain."
However, "companies tell us that they have been trying for more than a month for the City Council to send them a document, confirming that the public ownership of the street on which the damage occurred occurred, otherwise the insurance company Aguas de Lorca can not be held responsible for a fault located on a street that is not. "
"Given the concern, it seems lie that three months later, affecting several homes, the City Council has been unable to accelerate this management and respond to this problem that is taking these families' sleep," says Mateos, who will demand in the Plenary to speed up the response "that the insurer of the company Aguas de Lorca needs" to be able to take charge of the repair of the multiple damages caused in the houses, of course, without any cost for the neighbors.
In addition, Diego José Mateos will demand the start of works for the urban regeneration of the streets of Portijico and Abellaneda of the San Cristóbal neighborhood, which are two of its main communication routes, which "are currently, after years of municipal abandonment, in a calamitous state, full of patches, patches, architectural barriers and where the circulation of vehicles has become chaotic with the elimination of dozens of parking spaces ".
