The City Council of Lorca and FREMM share action measures that boost wealth, create jobs and innovation (28/02/2019)

The mayor of Lorca and the president FREMM and City Council highlight the need to promote solar energy projects planned in the municipality for its strategic factor, development and generation of new jobs.

The president of FREMM presents in Lorca the Agency of Placement and the Office of Digital Transformation of the Region of Murcia to enhance the regional economy, which will benefit not only the metal, but also the agro-food, chemical, textile, footwear, computer and other manufacturers.

Lorca.28.02.2019.

The Mayor of Lorca, Fulgencio Gil, has held this morning a working meeting with the President of the Regional Federation of Metal Entrepreneurs, FREMM, Alfonso Hernandez, in which both have agreed on the need to streamline the implementation of existing projects in solar energy that have the municipality of Lorca as a development scenario.

These are plans that are in themselves strategic factors of economic, labor and social impulse over those who have demanded greater speed, given the enormous and positive impact they will have not only in Lorca, but throughout the region.

The mayor and the business representative of the metal sector in the Region, which is part of the Association of Renewable Energies and Energy Efficiency (AREMUR), have coincided in their defense for sustainable economic and social development and, in particular, in the use of renewable energies, in particular photovoltaic solar, for counting the "City of the Sun" with one of the highest levels of radiation and solar hours in Europe.

The First Edil has reminded that the construction of the largest solar plant in Spain in the north of the municipal area will become a factor of dynamisation thanks to its contracts and synergies.

This places us at the head of an industrial area loaded with the future.

We are talking about supplying almost 170,000 homes with renewable energy, avoiding the emission of 475,000 tons of carbon dioxide and the use of 200,000 tons of oil per year.

Another 50 MW plant planned in Almendricos is added to this project.

FREMM: economic boost tools

Alfonso Hernández presented in this joint act to the media different actions that FREMM has put in place for the development of the Guadalentín Valley economy due to its capacity to generate employment and innovation in areas such as the agri-food industry, that the region, with Lorca at the head, leads at the regional level.

As support tools for the economic boost and job creation in the area, the president of the metal presented the Placement Agency and the Office of Digital Transformation.

The scope of both actions was shelled at a meeting held in Lorca with the media, which was also attended by the president of CECLOR, Antonio García, the vice president of FREMM by Lorca, Luz Díaz Sánchez, and the general secretary of the metal, Andrés Sánchez.

Hernandez emphasized that both the Placement Agency (AC) and the Office of Digital Transformation (OTD) are open to all industrial companies, not just metal.

That is, they will contribute to create new jobs and make the digital revolution a reality in the agri-food, chemical, textile, footwear, furniture, IT or other manufacturing industries that are distributed throughout the different localities of the Guadalentín Valley.

A region, said the president of FREMM, which provides 28% of industrial establishments throughout the Autonomous Community and, through its agrifood companies, is the best letter of presentation at national and international level.

Six offers every day

Hernández put at the disposal of the unemployed, companies and institutions of Guadalentín the Employment Agency of FREMM, which receives every day 6 job offers.

"We have registered more than 2,000 people, and 1,500 jobs have been offered, and currently we have 90 active job offers for workers of all ages, whether they have experience or not, their training is sufficient," said the president of FREMM.

At the forefront

Another challenge common to companies in the Guadalentín Valley with other Murcian companies is digitalization, said Hernández.

The Office of Digital Transformation (OTD) of the Region of Murcia, which the national Government has assigned to FREMM, is already embarked on this task.

The role of the DTO is to bring the necessary digitalization to the small and medium-sized companies that need it most and those that generate a multiplier effect in companies in their area, with special incidence in regions such as Guadalentín Valley.

Through the OTD, companies will be able to advance the use of ICT through a better positioning on the Internet, social networks or online marketing;

electronic commerce;

economic and business management;

and implementation of BPM (Business Process Management), CRM (Customer Relationship Management), ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) and BI (Busines Intelligence).
