The day will take place this Saturday, May 4, and will start at 9:30 am with a round trip of 9.4 kilometers along the Almendricos Greenway, with departure and arrival at the railway station of this hamlet .

The Region of Murcia will celebrate the XXI National Day of the Greenways with a route walking next May 4 through the Greenway of the hamlet of Almendricos, which runs along the old railway line that linked Lorca with the Andalusian city of Baza, and it has a total route of 19 kilometers from this district of Lorca to the Almerian town of Huércal-Overa.
On this day, it will be part of the total route, included between the point of departure of the railway halt of Almendricos and the false tunnel that is 4.7 km from the beginning of the greenway.
The approximate total route is 9.4 kilometers (round trip).
Along the same, the Sierra de Enmedio, protected area of ​​community interest, will be bordered, while it is slightly ascending from the 330 meters of altitude at the exit to the 350 meters where the tunnel is, a point that marks half of the travel of this day.
You will cross several ramblizos, appreciating the contrasts of landscape, from the urban Almendricos, surrounded by citrus and fruit plantations, to areas of low scrub.
Close to the route of the road are old farmhouses used for grazing and tillage, including small works of water collection and storage, such as old wells and reservoirs, forming a peculiar landscape ideal for a day of contact with nature.
As of 8:30 am, participants who have registered will receive a bag of supplies at the starting point.
At 9 o'clock, representatives of the Consortium of the Greenways of the Region of Murcia will present the activity, with the start of the excursion at 9:30 am.

The day is organized by the Regional Government in collaboration with the City of Lorca, the European Union, the Lorca Association Santiago, the Consortium of the Greenways of the Region of Murcia, Ecotourism Itineraries of the Region of Murcia and Costa Cálida Region of Murcia .
