Izquierda Unida Lorca will fight against political organizations that want women "to take not one step back in the achieved achievements" (08/05/2019)

The candidate number 3 of the list of this political training for the municipal elections of May 26, Isabel Quiñonero, has ensured that the new government team will promote female employment, promote co-responsibility promoting municipal alternatives for the care of children and adults promote conciliation, develop a comprehensive municipal plan against gender violence and recover the Equality Plans that the PP has been avoiding to develop for twelve years.

"We need instruments to deepen the participation and co-responsibility of women's organizations in municipal politics, transferring the gender vision to the set of public actions," said Isabel Quiñonero, who praised the "tireless" work that is being carried out since the FOML.

The IU-Greens candidate has ensured that her party's commitment to effective equality between men and women is "inalienable" and that they will fight with all their might to those political organizations that want women "to take a single step backwards". the achieved conquests ".

Quiñonero announced that from IU-Greens "we will continue fighting to end inequalities, betting on change and social transformation, which necessarily involves the recognition of women as individual, free, with full rights and copartners in social transformation, representing a substantive part of the economic, cultural and social development of our municipality. "

The proposals of IU-Greens in the matter of Equality go through to promote formulas of creation of local employment adapted to unemployed women and within the frame of the social economy.

Isabel Quiñonero also announced that another of the measures of IU-Greens will be the implementation of co-education programs in all educational centers with which to promote equal relationships and offer tools that develop social and emotional skills.

IU-Greens will also promote co-responsibility by promoting municipal alternatives for the care of children and adults that favor conciliation and will draw up a Comprehensive Municipal Plan against gender-based violence, in coordination with different councils such as education, social services or citizen security and women's organizations.

In this area, resources will also be increased to increase the network of accommodation and social and psychological assistance for victims of gender violence.

In addition to providing social and legal assistance to women victims of sexist violence, the City of Lorca will prosecute criminals against the abusers, appearing as an accusation in the proceedings against them.

Finally, IU-Verdes Lorca has committed to establishing an independent headquarters for the FOML, with approved classrooms by the Employment and Training Service (SEF) and enough space so that the multiple activities it organizes can be optimally developed.

In this way, the office they currently occupy in the civic center of San Cristóbal, which is insufficient, will be released to convert it into a study hall.

"Women's organizations must be indispensable allies of the City Council, because they fulfill an essential role as a vehicle for awareness and social transformation on the path towards equality," concluded Quiñonero.
