It is one of the most endearing events of all that take place in our city and in which the participation of extras that will recreate the Biblical-Passion parades of Holy Week is planned.
Also on May 11, at 6:00 pm, there will be the descent of Calvary to the Church of Carmen and on May 17 at 7:00 pm, in the Barrio de San Cristóbal, the Procession of Silence will take place.
The Hall of Town Councils of the City of Lorca welcomed this morning the presentation of the IX edition of the popular "Procession of Paper".
This is one of the most endearing events that take place in our city and in which the participation of more than a thousand extras is planned, which will recreate the most important religious and cultural manifestation of Lorca, such as our Weekly Passion-Bibles parades Santa, down the street Corredera. The parade will take place next Friday, May 10 from 7 in the afternoon.
The route begins at the confluence of the Corredera and General Terrer Leonés streets in the direction of the Church of San Francisco.
You can enjoy this parade that is a representation of the biblicopasional parades of the Holy Week of Lorca, but with the peculiarity that all costumes, cars and floats are made by boys and girls, using materials such as cardboard, plastic and paper.
Participating in the procession are the youth and youth collective associations of the Lorca fraternities, the youth associations of Paso Blanco, Encarnado, Morado and the youth of Paso Azul and the Curia and the Resurrected.
It is a children's procession that takes several months of work behind by the smallest of the Lorca fraternities, demonstrating their involvement with this great Lorca tradition, and making it possible for this representation to be shown to the city of Lorca, keeping in the new generations the processionist spirit. In addition, the poster of this activity has been designed by the young people themselves.
The work carried out by the members of the brotherhoods in the preparation and implementation of the Paper Procession throughout the year so that on this date they look and make reference to the Holy Week in Lorca, in which year after year it continues to be reinforced the local associative fabric, with the regeneration, illusion and new projects within these youth collectives.
Also on May 11, at 6:00 pm, the Calvary descent will be made to the Carmen Church and on May 17 at 7:00 pm, in the San Cristóbal neighborhood, the Procession of Silence will take place.
From each one of the brotherhoods and from the Council of Youth, which has intervened as a mediator and facilitator of some aspects of the organization of the event, we encourage, one more year, that our municipality turns to participate and enjoy this peculiar procession , that brings to the street the quarry of our Holy Week and helps the little ones appreciate the art of our embroidery and our most deeply rooted party.
From the City of Lorca we want to highlight "the involvement of all children who actively participate in this activity that this year is coming of age and continues to enjoy" unbeatable health "in terms of work and synergy between youth associations, they are an example of participation and teamwork ".
