• It is one of the most ambitious urban interventions that has been developed in the area, and entails the replacement of an old and degraded apple that will give way to an area for family recreation, as well as generating a new series of 14 car parks following the advice of neighbors, merchants, pleasures and innkeepers.
The Mayor of Lorca, Fulgencio Gil, has overseen this morning the tasks of final demolition of the old buildings that integrated a degraded apple in the neighborhood of San Cristobal, fulfilling the commitment expressed to Lorca in general and rabaleros in particular.
Once completed the work, the Mayor has anticipated that a green area will be created in the heart of the neighborhood, which is the most important urban intervention intervention that has been carried in the neighborhood over the past decades.
The previous tasks began several days ago, proceeding to the removal of multiple wiring connections and supplies, as well as other elements that were located in the different facades that had the old apple.

Once this task was completed and following the work plan established by the Government Team of the Partido Popular, a company specializing in the matter accessed the interior of the building and undertook the removal of all the pieces of construction that presented asbestos.

Once this aspect of the work is completed, the demolition blade proceeds to the final demolition of the entire block, a task in which several days will be used.
It is a plot of 1,034 m2 located between the streets Eulogio Periago, Juan Mínguez and Beato Fray Pedro Soler, in the heart of the San Cristóbal neighborhood.

Work has also been carried out to improve the Plaza de las Hortalizas, thanks to an investment of 23,400 euros by the General Directorate of Trade of CARM.
