The candidate for Mayor of Lorca, Diego José Mateos has proposed to take advantage of the three plants that will be empty in the Regional Health Center, the old Casa del Socorro, to house municipal offices and thus save about 100,000 euros a year at municipal coffers, through a rent spending policy much more efficient than the current one.
The Regional Center of Health, Abad street Los Arcos, has 2,600 m2 divided into five floors, four plus the basement, of which, the second and third floor will be empty once they move to Santa Rosa de Lima services currently occupied by the Ministry of Health.
"Once the transfer of these services to their new facilities at the Santa Rosa de Lima hospital becomes effective, and without a planned use, two floors will be added to the fourth floor which is now completely empty."
Mateos proposes that these plants can be installed those oenegés and / or associations in need of space, as well as municipal services, currently scattered throughout the city and for which the City of Lorca is paying thousands of euros per month in rent.
"It's about making better use of public resources, more efficient, with which also attract and give life to the streets of the battered and abandoned Historic District."
"This ambitious action, therefore, has a double objective: to carry out a much more orderly saving policy than the current one, and of course, to progressively recover the Historic District of the public services that the Popular Party has been taking from the center of the city, to the detriment of the life that our Historic Center needs ".
That is why Mateos has announced that, as Mayor from next May 26, will request the Autonomous Community the cession of the use of this public building, to take advantage of the plants that will be empty.
"We have calculated that the City of Lorca would save about 100,000 euros a year, money that could go to the oenegés or sports clubs in need of more support from their closest administration."
Of course, has affected Mateos, who will request a review and a prior evaluation of the state of the building, necessary before transferring to these dependencies those municipal services or Lorca associations.
In this sense, Mateos has also ensured that his government will carry out an inventory of each and every one of the low and municipal facilities currently underutilized or in disuse, such as the building of the Agrarian Chamber, where Aguas de Lorca could be installed, as well as the low located in Abellaneda street or those resulting from the reconstruction of the neighborhood of San Fernando, so that they can accommodate oenegés or collectives in need of space, without costing money to the municipal coffers.
