The Procession of Paper that each year more than a thousand children of the different Lorca fraternities carry out could become a Festival of Regional Tourist Interest.
This is what Somos Región intends to ask for that distinction for a celebration that recreates the passional biblical parades of Easter Week Lorquina.
The proposal was made this morning by number 4 of Somos Región to the Regional Assembly, Emilia Collado López.
"We are Region will request the declaration of Fiesta of Regional Tourist Interest of the Procession of Paper and we want it to be in this year precisely in which the twentieth anniversary of its recovery is fulfilled," he said.
The children's parade whose costumes, cars and floats are made by children from materials such as paper, cardboard, plastic, rods ... has become, according to Collado, "a focus of attraction for thousands of people who come from different points of the Region and neighboring provinces In this edition we have seen tourists arriving from the Almeria coast attracted by the peculiarity of the parade ".

The furnishings have even featured extraordinary exhibitions in the main embroidery museums of the city that have been visited by thousands of people, Emilia Collado recalled.
