The Mayor of Lorca, Fulgencio Gil, along with the council of Local Development, Sandra Martinez, reported this morning that they have completed the improvement and maintenance work that was being developed by the City Council in the hamlet of La Tova and that they focused mainly on the adaptation of the playground located in the back of the church.
We are talking about an area that has dimensions of 230 m2.
The tasks, which have been executed by the Rapid Intervention Brigade (BIR), contemplate, among other actions, the demolition of the previous pavement, since it was in poor condition, as well as the removal of the wooden fence that surrounded it.
The First Edil explained that this investment has allowed to equip the park with a new floor by executing 60 m2 of 20 cm thick concrete slab for the new location of games.
We have proceeded, in this way, to the installation of new playgrounds consisting of a tower, 1 slide, 1 platform, 1 ladder, 1 decorative panel, 1 climbing net and 1 fireman's bar, being suitable for children between the ages of 3 and 12 years.
The Rapid Intervention Brigade has also been in charge of the reorganization of the children's seesaws, installation of a biosaludable game, drinking fountain, placement of 55 m2 of rubber flooring, in the safety zone of the games, installation of 24 linear meters of fence colored galvanized metal on the perimeter of the children's playground, as well as the painting of urban furniture and existing walls, gardening replacement with seasonal flowers and roses and renewal of urban furniture.

These technicians are performing irrigation tasks, mowing and profiling of grass, fertilization, aeration, scarification and replanting of grass, interbedding, raking, weeding and weeding, conservation of the structure of existing plant elements, conservation of trees, maintenance of the irrigation network, replenishment work, pruning, trimming of shrubs, ornamentation of squares and gardens, as well as cleaning of these areas, among others.
The workers have a very extensive and specific battery of machinery specially adapted for the execution of conservation and maintenance tasks in these enclaves.
It should be noted that the green areas that we enjoy in our councils cover a total area of ​​147,819 total m² of green areas, including 75,946 m² of garden and 4,881 trees.
The Mayor has stressed that this device also allows to intervene more quickly and more effectively to respond to any eventuality that may arise, staying in contact with the Department of Rural Development to coordinate action and efforts, responding more agile and close to the demands that can be presented by the different groups integrated in the wide associative network of Lorca.
This equipment is added to the existing urban center and the new clearing service that has been launched in districts, and is working in La Hoya, Ramonete, Morata, La Campana and Pozo Higuera, and is expected to continue developing its work soon in the high districts, covering, for the moment, a total of 16 actions that respond to existing needs.
Similarly, in this case from Limusa, the weekly cleaning route in districts has been extended, adding to the usual jobs a new afternoon shift, which did not exist to date, and which provides additional coverage to Aviles, Las Terreras, Los Jopos, La Campana, La Escarihuela and Zarcilla de Ramos.
