The best cyclists on the national scene will meet this Saturday in Lorca at the Road Cycling Championships (27/06/2019)

The city of the Sun will be the goal of the tests of the U23 men's, women's and Elite categories, which will cause cuts to the road traffic in the different streets that are part of the route, for this reason it is requested "understanding to the drivers" and that they use alternative itineraries as far as possible.

The Councilor for Sports of the City of Lorca, Irene Jódar, announced that this Saturday, June 29, Lorca will host a test of the Spanish Championship of Road Cycling in the sub-23 categories male and elite and female U23.

The mayor of Sports has indicated that the approximate times of arrivals of the two tests are at 13:40 in the case of the U23 male category and in the afternoon, starting at 19:40 for the elite and female U23.

The competitions, concinco titles in game against the clock and other so many in line, will start this Friday with the different individual time trial, in Yecla.

In the morning the tests of the U23 male category, and the female elite and sub 23 will be developed.

And in the afternoon it will be the turn for the elite and elite male UCI categories.

The online tests will start on Saturday with the competition for sub23 men, 157.8 km between Archena and Lorca.

The first difficulty they will have to save will be the Alto de la Perdiz, after which they will face the climb to the Santa de Totana.

Shortly after, the peloton will reach Aledo, from where they will subtract 30 kilometers for the conclusion.

The final section will be a long stretch of descent that will lead to the ramps of the climb to the Castle of Lorca, 5 kilometers from the finish line and that will undoubtedly be the key point that decides the race.

The route of the women's road race will be very similar to that of the under23 boys with the exception that they will not find the Alto de la Perdiz on their way and will face a slightly smoother first half of the race.

The group of runners that will play the triumph will leave the climb to the Santa de Totana, already within the final 30 kilometers, from where the descent will begin which will lead them to the climb to the Castle of Lorca, where the movements that decide will take place. the name of the new champion of Spain.

The planned route for both tests will run along the Carretera de Caravaca where cyclists will enter, La Peñica, Plaza de la Estrella, Puente Viejo, Parroquia road, climb to the Castle, down the new road of Los Pilones, Lazaro Soto funeral home ,

La Quinta, Rambla Alta, Pérez Casas, San José Rotunda, Granada Highway, Santa Paula Oval and Juan Carlos I Avenue, where the finish line is located.

The Councilor for Sports has indicated that "for this reason there will be cuts to road traffic in the hours of arrival expected, in the morning about 13:40, approximate time in which is expected to finish the test of the male and elite category , and about 19:40 when the same thing will happen with the females We ask the citizens to follow at all times the indications of the agents and the organizers of the tests who will be watching over the security and the good development of the event ".

Jodar has asked for "understanding for the inconvenience that these traffic interruptions may cause to citizens, while encouraging them to enjoy this sporting event that will allow Lorca to have the best national cyclists."

It should be remembered that the device that has been arranged in the city of Lorca for this important sporting event is composed of the Police Operative with 20 agents, three corporals and a sergeant, in addition to 40 volunteers and the technicians of the Department.
