The Department of Youth launches the first phase of the Book Exchange Bank that will run until next July 26 (02/07/2019)

A program for the reuse of books of Secondary, Bachelor and Vocational Training with the double objective of facilitating family savings and give a second life to the copies.

The Councilor for Youth, José Ángel Ponce, visited the University Campus of Lorca this morning, where the Bank for the Exchange of Books (BILT) has been installed one more year.

An initiative that will be underway, during its first phase, until next July 26 and will have a second phase from September 2 to October 11.

The mayor of Youth detailed that "in this edition are accepted books of Secondary, Bachiller and Vocational Training since the books of Primary will be covered by the Ministry of Education."

And, furthermore, he explained that "the exchange system works by assessing the state in which the copies are found (new, underlined, widely used ...) and granting a correlative economic value".

Ponce Díaz recalled that "this is a project that pursues a dual objective: to allow family savings during the popularly known as 'back to school', as well as give a second life to textbooks betting on the reuse of paper and recycling of the copies ".

A program that gave very good results in its last edition, thanks to the 8,000 books collected and 5,000 exchanges between families and young participants.

The Councilor explained that "those interested must deliver the textbooks valid for the 2019/2020 academic year in the A Building of the University Campus from Monday to Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m." and that, to facilitate consultation, "You can find the list of all available copies on the web www.emavia.com".

On this page, you can also obtain the appointment to go to the BILT, consult the books that will be used in each of the Lorca centers and reserve copies for 24 hours.

José Ángel Ponce announced that this is an initiative launched by the Youth Council of the City of Lorca in collaboration with the company El Molino, Leisure and Free Time;

the municipal secondary education centers and the Federation of Parents of Lorca.
