The Spokesman of the Popular Group in the City council of Lorca, Fulgencio Gil, has informed that the offensive that the Popular Party comes developing before the government of Spain to obtain that the 50% bonus of the Property Tax (IBI) for the affected by the earthquakes of 2011 has received a new impetus, following the line of work that we have been carrying out by our political formation with the aim of respecting the rights and interests of Lorca who were harmed by the earthquakes of that year
We are running out of time, we have been waiting for many months and we can not allow Lorca without the bonus of the IBI for the paralysis of a government that continues to show a lamentable disinterest in the issues related to the earthquakes of Lorca.
At this point of the year they had to have unlocked this issue, but instead they have generated a deep uncertainty.
We want to avoid reaching a point of no return on this issue, and that is why we are doing everything we can to get it.
From the PP have reminded that the government can approve this bonus tomorrow by means of a Decree Law. In fact they have already approved at least 35 others, and it seems "unpresentable" that they have not had with Lorca the sensitivity they have had for less relevant issues.
Those affected by the earthquakes do not deserve this abuse by the government of Spain, so we are going to push to the maximum, since this is now the absolute priority for our municipality.
We are talking about a "sablazo" against those affected by earthquakes of 7.2 million euros, a real barbarity.
Around 44,000 properties will be affected.
Last Friday our National Representative Isabel Borrego presented a Proposition No of Law sent to the Table of the Congress of Deputies for the bonus of the IBI, also signed by Teodoro García (National Deputy and Secretary General of the Popular Party at national level) and José Antonio Bermúdez de Castro (PP spokesman in Congress).
Through this initiative, the Congress of Deputies urges the Government to adopt, as a matter of urgency, as many measures as are necessary to obtain a 50% bonus on the Real Estate Tax payments for the year 2019, with the same requirements established for the exemption regulated in this Tax in article 12 of Royal Decree-Law 612011, of May 13, by which urgent measures are adopted to repair the damage caused by seismic movements, as well as compensate the City of Lorca for the decrease in income that this measure can produce.
The text of this initiative reminds us that this earthquake has been the most serious in our country in its recent history.
The situation through which thousands of families have passed has been dramatic and not even today, 8 years later, have managed to recover from the strong impact suffered by the aforementioned earthquake.
In 2011, Royal Decree-Law 6/2011 was adopted, of May 13, which adopted urgent measures to repair the damage caused by seismic movements that collected a battery of measures to mitigate and repair damage, as well as aid Exceptional and tax benefits, including the exemption of IBI fees for homeowners, industrial and commercial establishments, workplaces and the like affected by the earthquake).
This bonus has been maintained to date.
The PP also demands that the state interests of public aid be condoned
The parliamentary offensive of the PP not only contemplates demanding the 50% bonus of the IBI, but also by means of a specific Law Proposal modifying article 8 of Royal Decree-Law 6/2011 so that these aids do not generate interests or penalties in any case for delay.
In order to benefit the recipients of these grants quickly and effectively, the PP proposes in its proposal a final provision for this Law to enter into force on the day following its publication in the "Official State Gazette.
The Popular Parliamentary Group in Congress has already presented other 4 initiatives in this regard, showing the commitment of this party to help people.
Thus, on August 21, 2018 we presented an initiative (PNL) requesting the cancellation of the interests of the State so that those affected by the earthquakes can justify their aid.
On October 30, 2018, we again claim through a Law Proposal the urgent measures to repair the damage caused by earthquakes, and in February of this year we proposed a new NLP so that 50% of the IBI would be rewarded. the victims of earthquakes.
