IU-Greens requests that marquees be placed at bus stops and that existing ones be adapted (16/07/2019)

The councilor of Izquierda Unida-Verdes, Gloria Martín, has asked the municipal government team for the progressive implementation of bus shelters in the public transport network, giving priority to those that have the greatest influx of travelers.

Martín has lamented that being a user of urban transport in Lorca continues to be an "odyssey".

In addition to the little frequency with which buses pass and the lack of schedules on the lines due to the lack of vehicles and personnel, in many cases the neighbors do not even have a suitable place to carry out the waits that, in some cases, They exceed 50 minutes.

Thus, there are many points of the urban area that do not have canopies to be able to shelter from inclement weather or the sun, which becomes unbearable in the hottest hours of the day during the summer.

The mayor of IU also asked for a revision and the cleansing of those that already exist because some present a "shameful" state.

In fact, he showed a photograph of a marquee located in the deputation of Rio, in front of a company dedicated to Industrial maintenance, whose seat is invaded by weeds.

"This image can not be tolerated in a city like Lorca," said Martin, who lamented that a public service as important as urban transport has been managed for years "as if we lived in the third world."

Martin has also moved the complaints of some neighbors who regret that the points of some lines, there are poles that warn users that there is a bus stop at that point, as happens for example in places as central as Juan Carlos Avenue I.
