Morales explained that "the blue flag application is prepared, during the month of November, when the Tourism Department sends all documentation to the entity, in January, if necessary, the requirements are presented and in June the entity communicates the result to us, that is, whether they grant it to us or not, and it is now, in the months of July and August, when the beach is in operation and with all the facilities and equipment, when the auditors of the Association of Education Environmental and Consumer Affairs (ADEAC) come to visit her ".

The mayor of Tourism recalled that "the Blue Flag is an award and a system of environmental quality certification created and managed by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE), in 1987. The FEE is constituted by almost 74 Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO's), one for each participating state, ADEAC is the responsible member for Spain of the FEE. "

The objective of the Foundation for Environmental Education is to promote, at an international level, information and environmental education, through Programs such as Blue Flag, Eco-schools, Young Reporters for the Environment, Green Key and Forests at School or other actions that promote the sustainable development of tourism and local communities, in line with Local Agenda 21 of the Rio Conference.
