Students of Baccalaureate and Training Cycles residing in Lorca's districts can now request aid for the transport service (24/07/2019)

These are regular online transportation aids that allow these students to travel from their place of residence to their study center in the urban area of ​​Lorca.

The Councilor for Education of the City of Lorca, Antonia Pérez, has informed this morning of the approval of the grant of regular online transportation grants for Bachelor students and Professional Training studies resident in districts of Lorca, in the period of October as of December 2019.

Pérez Segura detailed that "it is about facilitating access to post-compulsory studies to all those young residents in the districts of Lorca who are enrolled in public education centers in the municipality. To do this, it is covered through the public transport service, specifically where there is regular interurban public transport, the movement of these students from their place of residence and to their study center.

The Councilor for Education explained that "to access this subsidy it is necessary to meet a series of requirements such as: pursuing high school studies or training cycles during the academic year 2019-2002 in any of the teaching centers located in the nucleus urban area of ​​Lorca; being a resident in some of the districts of the municipal district in which, to travel to the educational center there is interurban public transport of regulated line; that the displacement between the residence address and the teaching center will take place in the buses of the regular passenger transport lines the school days corresponding to the academic calendar as well as that the parents, guardians or legal representatives of the students will be aware of their tax obligations with the City of Lorca. "

Antonia Pérez announced that "to participate in this call for public transport aid, interested parties will submit applications at the General Registry of the Consistory or electronically through the Electronic Office of the City of Lorca (www.lorca.es) and the deadline of submission of applications begins tomorrow July 25 and will end on September 18, 2019 ".

The mayor has revealed that "with this approval of subsidies, we hope that it will be allowed to have the transport vouchers from the first day of the course so as not to force the families to pay the payments".

In addition, he wanted to highlight the understanding shown, by the regional government, towards students residing outside the town center "who have the same rights as those who live in the center and who want to continue their post-compulsory studies. The question now is facilitate the procedures for accessing these grants, for example, by encouraging the automatic renewal of these grants in those cases in which the conditions do not vary to avoid the paperwork that this entails for both the citizen and the Consistory. "
