LOR + LGTBIQ is born, the association that will fight for the visibility of the lesbian, gay, transgender, bisexual, intersex and queer collective in Lorca (12/09/2019)

Advice, support, information, awareness about the defense and respect for sexual diversity or support for political advocacy are part of the tasks to be worked by the organization.

The Councilor for Equality of the City of Lorca, Antonia Pérez, presented this morning LOR + LGTBIQ, the association that will fight to give visibility to the group of lesbians, gays, transsexuals, bisexuals, intersex and queer.

Pérez announced that "today we are witnessing the birth of LOR + LGTBIQ, the association created to make visible a group that until a few months ago had no representation in the city of Lorca."

The Councilor explained that "this association will carry out advisory, support and information tasks in relation to the group of lesbians, gays, transsexuals, bisexuals, intersex and queer. Another of the workhorses will be awareness about defense and respect for affective-sexual diversity and gender identity in any of its forms (bodies, gender identities or expressions, sexual orientations ...).

"Also the fight against LGTBIQ + phobia and all discrimination on the grounds of sexual orientation and gender identity with informative actions and collaborations with entities of the Lorca society, as well as support for political advocacy for the defense of collective rights, of human rights as well as the interaction with other associations that develop their activity in areas similar to ours, "said the Edil.

Antonia Pérez has detailed that "the group will have a strong work team that will consist of colleagues who will perform responsibilities and functions such as the presidency in charge of Carlos Rubén Benítez Manzanares; the vice presidency by Héctor Villarroel Ibarra and as vocals Enrique Olcina Julia , Silvia Soto Ruiz, Pedro García Mateos and Sandra Rodríguez Pintor ".

The Councilor has detailed that "the logo shows the basic essence of the pride of the diversity of the conditions as human beings and the ingrained to our city and, therefore, an image that represents the popular Alfonsina Tower located in the Castle of Lorca as well as the incorporation of the acronyms and the colors of the rainbow flag, the international representation of this collective internationally.

Pérez Segura wanted to thank "the collaboration and invaluable support of the Federation of Women's Organizations of Lorca, the Youth Council, the Scout Group Ciudad del Sol, Cazalla Intercultural and the Lorca Rugby Club".
