The young student of the Juan Navarro García de La Hoya school, (25/09/2019)

Thousands of students in our region make daily use of the bus to reach their centers;

The objective of this initiative, launched by the Orbitalia Group, "is to make these routes as safe as possible."

The mayor of Lorca, Diego José Mateos and the General Director of Grupo Orbitalia, Juan Francisco Gómez, presented, this morning, the bus screen printed with the winning drawing of the contest launched by the company on the occasion of the 'I Orbitalia Campaign of Safety and Prevention in the Transportation of Minors'.

The drawing, made by Miriam Martínez of the La Hoya school, has given the whole class of this young student a day trip to the destination they choose and that they will make in that same vehicle.

This act has also served to present the second edition of this campaign that will begin shortly as Juan Francisco Gómez has informed "in this new edition, we will try to teach the second grade students in a fun and entertaining way the various safety measures available to buses, basic rules of behavior on board and some curiosities about these vehicles. "

For his part, the mayor has insisted on the need to continue carrying out road safety campaigns and on the correct use of elements such as the belt or child seats, since according to statistics "traffic accidents remain one of the main causes of child deaths in Spain the same as in the rest of the European Union ".

In this regard, the General Director of Grupo Orbitalia, said that "prevention is key to minimize the damage that can be suffered in an accident. For many safety systems that incorporate buses, passengers are key in this regard, for that is how we launch initiatives like this. Thousands of students in the region make daily use of the bus to reach their centers, our goal is to make these routes as safe as possible. "

This campaign, which took place during the past year in Lorca, Águilas and Puerto Lumbreras, trained more than 2100 students in the correct way to behave during a bus trip and in the security measures that these vehicles have.
