The Civil Guard detains three young people in Lorca dedicated to commit robberies in schools (25/09/2019)

The alleged authorship of the crimes of robbery with force and fraud is attributed to them

So far six crimes have been clarified and some of the subtracted effects have been recovered

The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia, within the framework of the operation 'Lycée', has dismantled a criminal group composed of three young people and dedicated to commit robberies in schools in Lorca and distribute the effects stolen in shops for sale of second-hand objects hand.

The Benemérita has arrested the three members of the criminal group, to whom the alleged authorship of the crimes of robbery with force and scam is attributed, and has partly recovered effects stolen in the educational centers, which have already been returned.

The proceedings began last August, when the Civil Guard detected the commission of a robbery in an educational center in the municipality of Lorca.

The complaint reported the removal of audiovisual technological material.

The first investigations were carried out at the scene, where the civil guards, specialized in Prevention of Citizen Security, verified the commission of the robbery and were able to verify that the school building had been accessed using force against doors and windows, also causing various damages

Once inside, the authors subtracted a large amount of technological material that the center uses to teach the classes to the students, among which were a mixing box, microphones, headphones, projectors, computers, speakers and televisions, as well as the wiring of the devices.

In addition to the analysis of the evidence obtained after performing the technical-ocular inspection, the civil guards developed a series of inspections in shops selling second-hand objects to try to locate the transaction of the stolen objects in the school.

As a result of these efforts, the researchers located part of the effects stolen in one of these establishments, which were seized.

The Civil Guard directed the investigation towards a young man, a neighbor of the town, because it was the person who had made the sale of the stolen objects, verifying that, in addition to the seized objects, the suspect had made sales of other objects that could come of other similar criminal facts.

During the investigation, the Benemérita verified that more robberies had been committed in other educational centers of the municipality, with a similar modus operandi and even coinciding with the type of objects stolen, which made the agents suspect that the same authors could be treated, expanding its research to the rest of educational centers.

Once all the necessary evidence has been obtained and prior judicial authorization, the Civil Guard has made the entry and registration at the home of the main suspect in which more objects related to other robberies investigated, culminating in the arrest of a young man and identifying others who allegedly collaborated with the former in the development of criminal activity.

Finally, the Civil Guard has located and detained the other two members of the criminal group.

To all of them the alleged authorship of the crimes of robbery with force and fraud is attributed, the latter for the sale of products of illicit origin pretending to be the rightful owners.

The investigation shows that those now arrested are after the alleged authorship of at least six crimes, not ruling out their involvement in more criminal acts.

The detainees, the effects recovered and the proceedings taken have been made available to the Court of Instruction of Lorca and the Juvenile Prosecutor's Office of Murcia.
