The City of Lorca launches a WhatsApp number (15/11/2019)

Citizens can communicate the damage on public roads by sending a WhatsApp message to 639 156 234, indicating the location of the incident and including the possibility of sending a photograph.

The Councilor for Local Development of the City of Lorca, Isabel Casalduero, has reported the launch of a new communication service, through WhatsApp, with the staff of the BIR, the Rapid Intervention Brigade.

Casalduero explained that "the City of Lorca strengthens the Rapid Intervention Brigade with a new incident communication system through WhatsApp, which, today, is one of the most used channels in the world for communication and, for we will use it as a method to facilitate the access and arrival of the requests of the neighbors of Lorca to this brigade. "

The mayor has detailed that "the citizens of Lorca can communicate the damage on public roads also through their mobile phone through WhatsApp, with a simple message to the phone 639 156 234, indicating the location of the incident and with the possibility of sending a photograph. In addition, the previous ways of communicating incidents such as the toll free number 900 10 13 55 and the email bir@lorca.es are also operative ".

Casalduero Jódar has indicated that "the incidents reported by any channel will be centralized in the Department of Local Development, which will be responsible for communication with citizens and will manage the repairs that are directly within their competence, deriving the rest to the services, public companies or other competent administrations. Likewise, these incidents will be monitored to report their repair or status. "

The Councilor for Local Development recalled that "the Rapid Intervention Brigade is a service launched in June 2018 with the aim of maintaining a city and districts in good condition for the enjoyment of all Lorca and visitors but it has not been sufficiently promoted and many of our neighbors do not yet know about its existence, so we are working to publicize this maintenance service that acts quickly to solve minor incidents that are communicated to them by the citizens themselves. "
