The Government team requires the Autonomous Community "own commitments" with those affected by Campillo, Torrecilla and Purias for the floods of September 2012 (03/12/2019)

This Monday afternoon, the second meeting between the three administrations involved in the search for a definitive solution to this problem was held at the Social Local of Campillo: Hydrographic Confederation of Segua (CHS), CARM and Lorca City Council.

The Councilor for Rural Development of the City of Lorca, Antonio Navarro, said, after the meeting held late yesterday between the three administrations to find definitive solutions to the floods of Campillo, Torrecilla and Purias, that "he has the feeling of lack of commitment by CARM to assume its responsibilities to solve this problem. "

The mayor of Rural Development recalled that "it was the second meeting in which the three administrations were sitting at the same table: local, regional, and state, to seek a comprehensive and definitive solution to the problem suffer the residents of these areas of the municipality every time it rains torrentially ".

This meeting took place at the premises of the Association of residents of Campillo, where according to Navarro, "it has been possible to verify, as on the one hand Confederación Hidrográfica del Segura (CHS) briefly presented the measures that have been taken and the advances that have been made produced during these last months, while from the Autonomous Community, the CARM Development Councilor, José Ramón Diaz de Revenga, simply reminded the CHS of what remains to be done, but without providing any documents or commitments during the meeting, beyond studying a proposal that was sent to them from the neighborhood collective. "

The councilor has reiterated that "we have a bittersweet taste, since on the one hand it has been possible to sit at the same table to the three administrations, but on the other hand we verify the lack of commitment of one of the parties involved."

Navarro recalled that "one of the requests of the City Council is that actions dependent on the different administrations can be carried out simultaneously so that they are not delayed in time."

Finally, Navarro Pérez stressed that "it is necessary to put all of us to reach an integral solution that allows residents to rest and not have to be in suspense every time we have heavy rain forecasts."
