The City Councilor of the City of Lorca, José Luis Ruiz Guillén, recalled that "the expenditure of the City Council for the extraordinary Christmas lighting this year amounts to 70,000 euros, 130,000 less than last season"
The mayor of Urban Planning has detailed that "we have returned to the 2017 budget, without excesses, since, in 2018, being an election year, there was an illumination well above the possibilities of this Consistory."
The councilor has lamented that “last year the Christmas tree that presided over the Plaza de España was rented for an extremely excessive cost, something that this government team cannot afford due to the economic situation that the City Council is going through due to poor management economic of the previous government team â€.
Ruiz Guillén has pointed out that “for this year the budget is quite limited, and given the impossibility of renting more decorative elements, we have made a first phase of the placement of Christmas ornamentation with light garlands, which we will be completing in the rest of the squares of the city and districts, as well as lights with traditional Christmas motifs that have not been used for years. â€
