The PP denounces that the current mayor violates his word with the neighbors of the area (10/12/2019)

After affirming that they would hire a company to transplant them, they will turn them into firewood.

They have been blown away with a backhoe shovel at the stupefaction of the neighbors, who could not give credit to what they were seeing.

Their roots have been cut and they have not even preserved the root ball, so they will not survive.

The Councilor for Parks and Gardens in the City of Lorca by the Popular Party, Angel Meca, has reported that we have been alerted by the residents of the Caravaca road, who have sent us photographs that show that the alleged transplant operation that the The current mayor said that what they were going to do with all the existing jacarandas in the area has been revealed as a fudge.

They have destroyed "palazos", with a backhoe, something that the neighbors of the area have witnessed.

No real operation has been carried out that allows the uprooted trees to be planted elsewhere.

The images speak for themselves: the trees have been cut, cut, uprooted without root ball and, some specimens have even suffered fractures during the process, leaving splinters and tears in sight.

If others are going to shut up before this "paripé" is their problem, we will continue denouncing this nonsense, because we are not going to be complicit or to prop up an absolutely disgraced local government.

Where are now those who denounced the "arboricide"?

His silence is very revealing.

The reality is that the current mayor has missed his commitment, and the trees, 32 adult specimens of jacarandas, are no longer good for anything, they have been loaded.

We have been able to verify that these supposed specialized works by a technical company expert in the matter, as the current mayor said, have not been done.

Instead, the specimens have been uprooted, uprooted and piled in trucks, suppressing any real possibility of conservation or transplantation.

We have been able to verify that the roots have been mutilated, being mechanically extracted without the root ball necessary for transplantation.

The mayor literally said that "he was going to hire a company" to transplant them "in other parts of the municipality", and that he was going to "prevent the destruction of trees", but the images show that he has done just the opposite.

The 32 copies of jacaranda have been uprooted without roots, so that their commitment has been breached, with the consequent outrage of the neighbors, who have been frustrated their expectations and feel cheated and disappointed because they are seeing how those who were hitting chest "4 days ago, now unable to say the slightest and" swallow "with this barbarity.

From the Popular Party we have transferred the photographs to true technicians specialized in this type of conservation interventions, and they have been stunned.

It goes without saying that, obviously, the conditions in which they have been removed impede both their survival and any transplant.

The trees, because of the lack of rigor of the current mayor, have been lost.

From the PP we hope that at least some of the 32 trees have had the opportunity to be preserved, so we will require the current mayor through official channels to inform us in writing and in detail of the actions they have taken, which company has been the one that has carried out the work and what has been the result of them.

This is a claim in which we demand the drafting of a duly audited and argued municipal report.

The Lorca people deserve to know the truth of this whole matter, not a local government that has become accustomed to promising one thing and doing the opposite.

From the PP we say the same thing that we have always indicated: that all the woodland is maintained, and that which has to be transplanted, that is conserved in the municipal nurseries to integrate it into our parks, gardens and green areas.

We also claim the replacement of the specimens that have to be transferred and the incorporation of more green areas with trees in the urban renewal works that are developed in our city.
