CajaMmediterráneo teaches over 500 students of Lorca the sources and uses of energy in the mall of the Constitution (15/06/2010)

Schoolchildren learn Whatis Lorca energy, how it is generated, how many sources there are and everything you can do with it, as well as the effects of misuse of power can have on the environment.

All this and much more is what are the elementary students when they visit the Energy Plaza, an educational initiative that aims Caja Mediterráneo through games teach children to different sources of energy, and do not differentiate between renewable and understand its functioning, while instilling a critical knowledge on the importance of energy conservation and efficiency.

Regional President Caja Mediterráneo, Angel Martinez, and Mayor of Lorca, Francisco Jodar, inaugurated this morning the activity of Caja Mediterráneo.

Energy Square consists of several tents, inspired by the appearance of the igloos of the polar regions.

Each tent is the scene of a different theme.

Caja Mediterráneo, in collaboration with the municipality of Lorca, has installed its Energy Plaza in the Plaza de la Constitucion, where the next three days, more than 500 students of Lorca have opportunity to have a working knowledge of the energy world.

CAM Regional President explained that "the most important aspect of this activity is used to raise awareness among youngsters of the importance of energy in our daily lives and their rational use is essential to enjoy it more time and less impact on the environment, so it is explained how important it is to make use of energy from renewable sources like sun and wind. "

This activity is designed to perform in a traveling by different municipalities and schools, covering all levels of primary, focusing especially on the higher levels.

The Regional Chairman explained that Caja Mediterráneo - Simultaneously with the Energy Plaza in schools in the city another activity: Solar Space, which is to explain to the children through the application demonstrations that we do in our house solar and wind through small appliances plugged into the batteries to be recharged with solar panel or wind turbine.
