The Governing Council has authorized a grant to the Bishop of Cartagena for the second phase of the restoration of the former collegiate church of San Patricio de Lorca, Historic-Artistic Monument in 1941 and with a Cultural Monument category in 1985.
The amount of the restoration project amounts to 1,083,556 euros, of which the Autonomous Community, through the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, provides 379,245 euros, and the rest Cajamurcia, the Bishop of Cartagena and the city of Lorca.
This phase focuses on restoration actions on supporting elements, domes cracked, lost or altered finishing, cleaning and building blocks and to restore the facades.
It also includes the restoration of damp in the chapel of the Virgen del Alcázar, the recovery of the attics of the Chapter House and intervention on the terrace of priests.
