Sotoca stressed during his visit to Lorca the value of active and training in the job search process (01/07/2010)

The Minister of Education, Training and Employment, Constantine Sotoca, opened today in Lorca Employment Days addressed the importance of active policies, vocational training and social economy in the job search process, and in which participated Directors General of Vocational Training and Employment Service and Training Regional, and Ginés Martínez Joaquín Buendía, respectively.

Sotoca stressed the importance of the meeting to disseminate information about resources that the administration makes available to citizens in order that they can develop a successful job search process, "an action that is especially important in these times of crisis "he said.

The Job Holder acknowledged the efforts of the City of Lorca in the implementation of this initiative and stressed the importance of collaboration with the municipalities to improve the effectiveness of government actions.

A partnership which he said has allowed the past two years to make investments worth Lorca 4.7 million euros, of which 1.7 million were directed to training programs for employed and unemployed, and the other 3 million for employment programs.

These investments have been developed nearly 60 training activities that have reached more than 1,000 students, and have launched two employment workshops and a school workshop aimed at improving training and professional experience of more than 100 workers.

Business Enterprise Centre

The counselor also visited the works of the Business Initiative Centre of the deputation of the turret, the second phase, already underway, is borne by the students of Labora employment workshop, the students of Initial Vocational Training Program and municipal technicians .

The counselor, who recalled that the first phase represents an investment of 235,000 euros, stressed the importance of future facilities and to "help the entrepreneurs of the municipality to develop their business by offering a space in which to start its activity before it autonomously. "

He also assured that the Centre will be completed in May 2011 and that, in addition to providing information and advice to entrepreneurs, will have five new incubators and four classrooms.

During his visit to Lorca, the Minister also presented certificates to 65 students of five training courses funded by the SEF.
