The Councillor for Education of the City of Lorca, Francisco Montiel, announced Wednesday the conclusion of a new "Meet Author" which will be the fifth of February.
The event, organized by public libraries of Lorca, is aimed at the young Lorca become fond of reading through contact with prestigious writers in the field of children's literature.
Montiel said that "we received today Carles Cano who in the children's library during school hours will talk about his White Dear book thanks to the collaboration of the Editorial Anaya. After the participation of Rafael Salmeron, Llanos Campos, Andrés Guerrero and Ana Alcolea, we close the "Encounters with author" for the month of February with Carles Cano. Carles Cano is an author of children literatua trained in multiple trades, in addition to a well-known storyteller.
In 1994 he received the Lazarillo Award for Literary Creation T'he agafat, Caputxeta (Gotcha, Riding Hood).
Although his work has different degrees of complexity, his prose tends at times to be experimental, with great presence of puns;
it has also created universes plagued by strange beings, born of pure linguistic possibility fiction.
One of his most ambitious and comprehensive projects is Columbeta, the book island, an imaginary world populated by beings such as bromedrarios the peliculanos or cacadrilos, which has been illustrated by Miguel Calatayud.
