The "Encounters with author" of the Municipal Libraries of Lorca bring three writers in the coming weeks (02/03/2016)

The Councillor for Education of the City of Lorca, Francisco Montiel, announced the conclusion of new "Encounters with author" in the coming weeks.

This activity aims to bring literature to young Lorca through contact with writers of national prestige in the field of Children's Literature.

Montiel recalled that "so far in 2016 have had the presence of 5 authors. Now, during the months of February and March we will have the opportunity to receive three new writers who present their works to a total of 1,150 students from different schools in the municipality ".

"Today, March 2, we have the presence of Ana Alonso, who presents his book A rare letter to 200 primary school students. The activity takes place in the children's library during school hours tomorrow, thanks to the collaboration the Editorial Anaya ".

Catalan Ana Alonso has published eight poemarias and, among others, has received the Hyperion Poetry Prize, the Critical Eye Award for Poetry, Antonio Machado Prize and the Prize Alfons the Magnanimous Valencia.

His books aimed at children and young people, in addition to written with Javier Pelegrin (The key of time, Jinn), highlights the pinch of salt collection.

The mayor has said that "on 15 and 16 March, thanks to the Editorial Edebé, visit us Maite Carranza, who will talk to 600 students during school hours tomorrow."

Carranza, graduated in Geography and History, combines teaching at the university with the creation of audiovisual scripts and literary works.

His work in the field of children's literature began in 1987 when he won the Critics Prize Serra d'Or, publishing since then more than 20 titles and receiving awards as the Edebé Children's Literature.

In this editorial he published his acclaimed trilogy The War of the Witches, translated into 25 languages.

With Poisoned Words was awarded the National Prize for Children's Literature in 2011. In 2014 received the Cervantes Chico Prize 2014.

"On April 21 visit Lorca Maribel Romero Soler, who will present 350 secondary school students his book The latest magic trick, thanks to the collaboration of the Editorial Edebé".

Soler Romero, a native of Elche, has a degree in Law and a Diploma in Writing and Style, Black Novel and Training Readers.

Leo belongs to the group working on educational reform and encourage reading in the province of Alicante.

He teaches courses in creative writing, working with press and radio and is the author of ten books, having obtained for his literary work several awards.
