The Town Planning in the City of Lorca, Satur Martinez, along with the director of the Mother of God School-Mothers Mercedarias, Lola Lora-Villar, have reported that the city council, through this management area, has granted license works to the Community of Sisters of the Order of Our Lady of La Merced (popularly known as Mercedarias) to proceed to the construction of a new building of multiple use on the street Abad de los Arcos, on the corner Horno de las Monjas.

Currently this center has enrolled a total of 747 students.
The Order of Mercedarian Mothers, with over 500 years of implantation in Lorca, completed in 2014 the centenary of his school, dedicated to the education of children and youth.
Lorca are thousands who have been educated in their school, since 1914 this religious community decided to respond to a perceived need in the population for not having a sufficient number of schools.
