The Department of Consumer Affairs encourages Lorca to know the rights and guarantees that protect them as consumers (15/03/2016)

World Consumer Day Today marks.

In 2015 the Department of Consumer recovered 150,000 euros to users who filed claims in the OMIC.

Most of the complaints relate to fixed and mobile telephony, electricity, doorstep selling, insurance, energy supply and financial services.

The Councillor for Health and Consumption in the City of Lorca, Maria del Carmen Ruiz, has encouraged all Lorca to be informed of the rights that protect them as consumers to know the guarantees which have when they come to the acquisition of any type of goods, products and / or services.

The mayor stressed in this regard, the following rights:

Right to protection against risks that may affect their health and safety.

Right to protection of economic and social interests.

Existence of complaint.

Right to knowledge of prices.

Right to a preliminary budget: written, itemized prior, with validity period, accurate, free, with exceptions.

Right to weight and measurement accuracy.

Right to invoice or copy of the contract.

Right to delivery deposit slip.

Warranty claims, at least 2 years.

Right to notice before the court of public service delivery.

Right not unfair terms in contracts of adhesion.

Right to spare parts and technical services.

The prohibition of illegal advertising.

Removal of special sales methods that limit the freedom of choice of consumers and users.

Right to compensation for damages.

Right to participation, consultation and representation, through consumer associations and users.

Right to education and training.

Other rights:

Acquisition rights: we can acquire everything it on sale and in case of shortage serve the temporal order.

sales with quantitative limitations are not allowed.

Right to acquire a single article in joint bids: it has to allow acquiring unit that article.

Equal conditions of sale: same quality, same price to all.

Right of return Product: always allowed and when so advertises the merchant, in other cases is not mandatory return.

Maria del Carmen Ruiz stressed the need for all consumers always request receipts, invoices and other documents when making their purchases.

In the event that the consumer is not satisfied with the good purchased, it has at its disposal the services of this Department in the Municipal Office of Consumer Information (OMIC), where we will attend consultations of consumers and users, usually personal, but also can made by phone or in writing.

The person making the query must be a consumer as the resources of the Office are intended for attention, not to entrepreneurs or professionals or individuals nonusers.

Within this function the indication of addresses and functions centers consumer interest is included.

The OMIC manages claims by performing three tasks: first, the registration of the complaint (receipt, recording and acknowledgment), secondly, the attempt to solve the problem (mediation and conciliation), and finally his referral to the appropriate body.

It should be recalled also that the OMIC of Lorca is home to the Consumer Arbitration System and supports Consumer Organisations its territory.

It is also responsible for distributing complaint forms traders, businessmen or professionals.

(As a general principle all those selling retail or provide services to the general public should have them. The natural or legal persons who market products or goods or services to consumers must have them available in establishments or official residences. Those who sell to address or street must also bear arms).

The Department of Consumer Affairs has made in recent months a hundred inspections to ensure the safety of products, customers and suppliers.

Municipal Inspection Service withdrew a total of 1,723 items after performances by trade, others derived from the network alerts and denouncing caused by consumers themselves.

Ruiz Jodar today participates in the celebration of World Consumer Day, with the group of Housewives, Consumers and Users, which makes a visit to the facilities of the cooperative Campo de Lorca to commemorate that date.
