The president of the Community, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, said this morning that the regional government "remains intact, firm and strong commitment to the ultimate recovery of the city of Lorca," a "great city that is capable of everything and has managed overcome ".

Pedro Antonio Sanchez made the remarks after the meeting of the Governing Council, held today in Lorca, on the occasion of the fifth anniversary of the earthquakes recorded in May 2011, after which the president, with the mayor Francisco Jodar, reported the actions that have taken place in the city over the years.

Investment highlights

In education, it has made an investment of 33.8 million euros, which has allowed repair or rebuild a total of 34 centers.

Performances among which the construction of the new Institute Ros Giner or institute Ramón Arcas, others in the school San Fernando, in the Conservatory, the new headquarters of the School of Plastic Arts and are already running the new sports facilities in IES Ibanez Martin and Ros Giner.

On the other hand, Lorca today has new and renewed health infrastructure, with an investment of 16 million euros that has enabled to have the new center of Lorca Sutullena Health reform comprehensively the Specialty Center Santa Rosa de Lima, and reforms in different areas of Rafael Mendez Hospital.

As for recovery of historical heritage, today 80 percent of the Master Plan, worth over 57 million euros, is already executed, and 95 percent in relation to the Goods of Cultural Interest (BIC).

It also has built a new headquarters of the Guardia Civil and a new Commissioner of the National Police, which must unite improvements in the municipality roads and communication infrastructures.
