Two million euros to expand capacity drainage of the roads crossing the Viznaga Rambla de Lorca (18/05/2016)

The Governing Council, on a proposal from the Ministry of Public Works and Infrastructure, has approved the hiring of the expansion project of the drainage works road RM-11 (Lorca-Eagles) and RM-621 (Lorca Purias), which Viznaga cross the boulevard of Lorca, with a budget of 2,000,286 euros.

The aim is to increase the drainage capacity of the promenade and avoid the effects and damage that could cause floods.

Rambla de Viznaga is a major tributary of the River Guadalentín, which collects water from the wadis of the Torrecilla, Bejar and part of the Nogalte, so you can accumulate a significant flow, as happened in the flood of San Wenceslao.

Regional roads RM-11 and RM-621 cross the wadi north-south and make it convenient to run a construction of 22 new frames between the two roads, which currently have 21 frames.

The new frames will have approximately 4.50 meters wide light for about 3 meters high.

In addition, this work will maintain a more fluid communication between the two banks of the wadi on those roads, to allow the passage of vehicles of support and help in case of an emergency coincide with a great avenue.

The work will be financed annuities 2016, with 1,250,000 euros, and 2017, with 750,286 euros.
