Councilman Rural Development of the City of Lorca, Angel Mecca Ruzafa, and the Director of FECOAM, Antonio Sanz, presented this morning the competition of children's kitchen "Huerta Chef" funded by the European Union, the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment and the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia.
The program's main objective is that children enjoy preparing simple recipes where the main ingredients are fruit and / or vegetables.
Angel Mecca said that this contest, to be held in the Huerto de la Rueda on Saturday 28 May 10 at 12:30 am, it aims to develop creativity through the use of different foods such as fruit and vegetables next to children and encourage consumption.
Therefore, school in the district Guadalentín Valley and surrounding municipalities will learn the keys to a healthy eating and healthy hand of a Junior Master Chef contestant, lorquina Maria Querol, and a prestigious chef in the region.
Councilman Local Development has stressed that this is a fun event, where children can have a good time in the company of their classmates and their families.
El Huerto de la Rueda will for the occasion with a photocall of the campaign that will welcome all participants and their relatives.
After the presentation, children develop their plate, and meanwhile, attendees can enjoy the work of the "garden-chefs".
Ruzafa Mecca has explained that this year involved 250 children aged between 6 and 9 years of almost all schools in the Region of Murcia.
On this occasion, Lorca will be represented by 19 schools in both urban (CEIP Ana Caicedo Richard, CEIP José Robles, CEIP Perez de Hita, CEIP Sacred Heart of Jesus, CEIP San Cristobal, CEIP San Fernando, CEIP San Jose, CEIP Andrés García Soler, CEIP Juan Gonzalez and San Francisco de Asis) and the districts (CEIP La Campana, CEIP Pasic Campillo, CEIP Juan Navarro, CP Listening, CEIP La Torrecilla, CEIP Petra Gonzalez, CEIP Alfonso Garcia Lopez, CEIP Virgen de las Huertas) in addition to special school Pilar Soubrier.
The Rural Development Edil explained that the school may give a prescription to choose between meals, desserts and snacks and has as main ingredients any variety of fruit and / or vegetables, preferably seasonal.
Each participant must emplatar your own dish in 20 minutes.
The jury of Lorca María Querol, Junior Master Chef contestant, a renowned chef Murcia and authority of the Autonomous Community, will evaluate the prescription as creativity, presentation and tasting.
Angel Meca stressed that a winner in each category, the prize is a Cooking Kit "Huertachef" (lot of tools consisting of a set of molds of silicone, a cortapasta, muffin cups, set of kitchenware for cooking, be elected and one chef jacket with the image of the campaign along with three stars that will distinguish it as a real chef.
