The Town Planning in the City of Lorca, Satur Martinez reported on the latest developments in the process of drafting the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SUMP) it is underway for several weeks.
The mayor noted in this regard that the lorquina citizenship is engaging in wording from a triple aspect formed by the workshop of the work of the Bureau of Mobility Lorca, the Mobility Portal and the Information Session open to the participation of all citizens.
Satur Martinez has indicated that, as for the first workshop of the Bureau of Mobility Lorca, took place on 6 June, within the first annual convocation of the Social Council of the City, the Bureau was established Mobility Lorca.
It is a tool designed to serve as a coordinating body to ensure the implementation of PMUS of Lorca with a direct and active involvement of the different teams of local technicians, social workers and citizens, politicians and representatives of local economic activity, whose joint participation is essential if you want to achieve sustainable mobility in Lorca.
The Bureau Mobility consists of more than 30 people from the mentioned areas involving a representative sample of society Lorca.
Of these, 11 are also members of the Social Council.
The Town Planning has stated that the Bureau, which is active throughout the entire development process PMUS, held on June 28 its first working session in a workshop.
During the nearly 3 hour workshop, the officers worked in industry groups on the problems and challenges in urban mobility and shared their ideas about this diagnosis.
They were points of consensus, among others, the need to promote awareness of sustainable mobility, in order to enhance pedestrian friendliness in many downtown streets, the challenge of communicating the sections of bike lanes or sidewalks coexistence.

Satur Martinez said that last Wednesday 29, the hall of the Cultural Center, hosted the briefing open to the participation of all citizens under the name "What is a PMUS?".
After an introduction on sustainable mobility and how a Sustainable Mobility Plan is structured, presented in detail examples of PMUS of other comparable cities to the town of Lorca.
It was also informed of the various channels of holding such as Mobility Portal Lorca, already active, and the Office of Mobility, which will be inaugurated in the coming months.
Finally, some of the challenges facing Lorca in sustainable mobility were exposed.
The session ended with several questions and considerations raised by the participants, which were discussed and answered by the technical team and Councilwoman Mobility.
On the occasion of Mobility Week, in mid-September will be a Conference on Mobility cyclist.
