The PSOE de Lorca calls free books for compulsory education (22/07/2016)

The PSOE councilor in the city of Lorca, Nines Mazurek has submitted the motion with which the Socialists Lorca want the consistory, as already happens in other municipalities of the Region, bet on the implementation of a program of free books text as saving measure for those families who have more difficulties when purchasing expensive textbooks.

As it indicated Nines Mazuecos this motion will also serve as a complaint, "because of the delicate moment by crossing the lorquinas families by the imposition of the LOMCE".

A law that under the socialist mayor, "although agreed at the Regional Assembly to be implanted under minimum, the Regional Government finally decided to be implemented in full, thus ignoring the mandate of the Assembly."

That is why so today, according to the complaint Mazuecos "we are in a community where the gratuity in textbooks does not exist".

"Only insured there is little, partial and delayed aid for the purchase of books serves little relief for the families of the Region of Murcia", as opposed to what happens in other communities such as Andalusia.

Social responsibility has recalled that last year amid anticipation of these changes committed by the Regional Assembly, and anticipating that the implementation of the LOMCE in the Region of Murcia would be "more subdued" in many institutes Lorca "decided at their most follow the books had already been using previous years. "

Now, says Mazurek "are obliged to establish new books in all courses."

A problem that will represent "all or almost all parents with children in secondary spending EUR 250 per student for primary and an average of 200 euros".

Faced with this problem, from the Municipal Socialist Group in the next plenary propose the creation and implementation of a program of free textbooks.

A program that stresses "has already been implemented in some Murcian localities under socialist governments" and that "has led to the progressive savings of many families Murcia the huge outlay involved in buying textbooks each year without thereby jeopardizing City Council budget stability ".

The program initiative gratuity proposed by the PSOE would impose in a "gradual and progressive" with the goal that students of compulsory education in Lorca are available textbooks for free ". As a control measure socialists propose the payment of a fee initial the course replacement, about ten euros per student, so that books are the property of the administration buys and are the centers with the AMPAS those in charge of their custody and distribution.

Complementarily, the Socialists remember that thanks to the work of opposition groups in the Regional Assembly and the PSOE initiative, a budget destined to free books "still pending its implementation" was achieved.

Thus, the Socialists urge the municipal government "the regional government require compliance in order to support this initiative also with funds from the regional executive."

AGREEMENTS

That the city of Lorca create a budget for the purchase of textbooks for a full course, so that students enrolled in that course during the year of purchase receive free textbooks for use.

families have been paid corresponding replacement rate, and to transfer them the necessary commitment to be returned to schools in good condition at the end of the course.

This program of free books is implanted every year, progressively and gradually, so that over a period of four years to complete all the courses, which would in any case 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th primary and four secondary.

Thus, during the time that this program, which is the bank book current complement courses that go subtracting is implemented.
