Ministry, Community and City Hall advance to the Central Round Lorca reality (26/07/2016)

The regional government has in the process of hiring the first two sections, on a path linking two kilometers from the San Diego to the Rambla de Tiata

The Minister of Public Works and Infrastructures, Pedro Rivera, Undersecretary of Development, Mario Garcés, and the mayor of Lorca, Francisco Jodar, today visited the construction of the Central round in Lorca, which promote the three administrations with the aim of improving communications in the city.

"This is a strategic road for the social and economic life of the city, acting ring to facilitate connections between east and south of Lorca," stressed the Minister of Development, and stressed the "enormous contribution" of this route to improving communications, road safety and savings in time travel.

Pedro Rivera considered this "fundamental to both the recovery and development of Lorca and the welfare of their neighbors, who have claimed this infrastructure as an alternative route to that formed axis between Avenida Juan Carlos I and Avenida Europa work, which builds high traffic intensity ".

The owner of Public Works said it has the dual purpose of "improving communications in the city center and link to the arterial network of state and regional roads."

Rivera stressed that the regional government, like the State and the City, "maintains a firm and permanent commitment to the ultimate recovery of the city of Lorca" backed "with a strong investment of 1,200 million euros earmarked the three administrations ".

The construction project of the Central Round is an infrastructure of 4.4 kilometers that runs from the old N-340a, at the entrance of Lorca in the east of the city, to link up with the fast track RM-11 (Lorca- eagles) in the west.

The Minister said that the regional government has recently awarded the works of the first stage, which begins in the N-340a to the district of San Diego, amounting to 6.9 million euros, and that work will begin along the next few months.

The second tranche by a bridge linking the two banks of the river Guadalentín and connects San Diego to Tiata promenade.

It is in the bidding process, with a budget of 5.6 million euros.

new agreement

On the occasion of this visit, Undersecretary of Public Works and the mayor of Lorca announced a new agreement recently signed by the Government of Spain, through the Ministry of Finance and Public Administration, allocated 3 million euros to the rehabilitation of infrastructure municipal, damaged by earthquakes in 2011.

One purpose of this agreement is to finance the cost of the drafting of the construction of the third phase of the Central round, which runs along the promenade 750 meters Tiata to reach the bridge of Vallecas.

Another objective is to contribute to the costs of technical improvements of the construction works of the fourth phase of the Central round, which starts on the bridge of Vallecas and ends the roundabout intersection with the RM-11.

The works of this section are well advanced.

In addition, the agreement includes the renewal of numerous roads, streets and highways mainly districts, which will focus on the settlement of 50 municipal road infrastructure.
