Development receives 52 bids for the construction of new frameworks to double the drainage capacity of the Rambla de Viznaga of Lorca (20/08/2016)

The works have a tender budget of two million euros and a lead time of six months

The Ministry of Public Works and Infrastructure has received a total of 52 offers from companies interested in implementing the actions of expansion associated with the drainage of the Rambla de Viznaga of Lorca, up to the junction with the road RM-11 (Lorca-Eagles ) and RM-621 (Lorca Purias).

The basic tender budget for this action amounts to 2,000,286 euros.

The Tenders Committee of the General Secretariat of the Council will assess the projects submitted and technical characteristics through constructive memory, reflecting the focus of the work and its territorial and temporal planning, execution time, the assurance plan quality, and environmental and safety measures, among others.

The aim of this work is to increase the drainage capacity of the boulevard because, although characterized by low rainfall and low runoff coefficient, it is vulnerable to achieve very high flow rates, as happened in the flood of San Wenceslao.

It is therefore a work that aims to prevent possible harm that could be caused in the event of flooding.

The works will include the construction of 22 new frames between the two road infrastructure, which will double its drainage capacity of those roads which today have a drainage system composed of 21 frames.

The works to be performed on the RM-11 road connecting the towns of Lorca and Aguilas include the construction of 14 frames, with dimensions of 4.50 meters wide by 2.7 meters light up.

Thus, the route will have a total of 30 arches and can evacuate 1,250 cubic meters per second.

The work to be performed on the RM-621 will allow the construction of 8 new arches of 4.50 meters wide light three meters high, which will have a total of 13 frames.

Its discharge capacity is increased by 400 cubic meters per second.

The deadline of this action is six months.
