The Ministry of Education and Universities reinforces the attention to diversity in the course 2016/17 with increased resources and educational programs to improve the quality of care to pupils with special educational needs.

The Minister Maria Isabel Sanchez-Mora, who today visited the town of Lorca to mark the start of the school year, said the launch of three new specialized open classrooms in public schools and Primary El Rubial, Eagles, and Basil Saez, Caravaca de la Cruz, and at the institute of High Aljada, Bacons Bridge (Murcia).

Sanchez-Mora also announced "the launch of a new open classroom Secondary in the municipality Lorca, whose location is being decided by the technicians of the Ministry".

Thus, the region already has 94 open classrooms.

In addition, this school year the number of centers that have specialized health care.

Thus, the two schools have had nurses the course 2015-2016, one in Murcia and another in Molina de Segura, the CEIP La Atalaya CEIP Cartagena and San Fernando de Lorca meet.

"For prevention, monitoring and control of absenteeism and early school leaving 207,000 euros are invested in grants to municipalities, in addition to the offer of 11 vocational centers," said Sanchez-Mora.

Finally, in this area, the Ministry allocates more than one million euros for grants to associations full inclusion of students with special educational needs.

Regarding the return to classrooms today have returned to their classes a total of 15,573 students in the municipalities of Lorca (9,709), Torre Pacheco (4,811) and Bullas (1,053).

Visit to Pilar Soubrier

The Minister Maria Isabel Sanchez-Mora visited today the center of Special Education Pilar Soubrier of Lorca, a public school of reference in all the region of Guadalentín serving 155 students in 25 units, 8 Primary, 8 Secondary 6 transition to adult life and 2 Vocational Training.

Pillar Soubrier has a staff of 33 teachers, five physiotherapists and 28 assistants educational technicians working under the principles of autonomy, inclusion, standardization, development of personal relationships and job training.

Its facilities include dining facilities and residence.

This school is also Resource Center, offering collaboration to professionals who cater to students with special educational needs and offering human and material resources to strengthen the inclusive school model.
