The Department of Health completed the review of 29 food stalls installed in the Huerto de la Rueda and squares of the city on the occasion of the Fair (20/09/2016)

In the controls it has been found that workers had the food handler card, surfaces where meals are prepared were cleaned and disinfected, as well as the raw materials with which the dishes are prepared having their corresponding labeling

The Councillor for Health of the City of Lorca, Mari Carmen Ruiz Jodar has reported that on the occasion of the Fair and Festival City, the technicians of the Department in this area are conducting inspections in different bars installed in the Huerto de la Rueda to ensure the sanitary conditions of these catering establishments during this period.

This project, which started last Saturday, will last until Sunday 25 September, with the collaboration of associations, organizations and restaurateurs responsible for them.

Mari Carmen Ruiz explained that the proper care regarding food handling, the conditions under which preserved and sanitary measures are important at this time, since the catering establishments are enjoying an abundance of public and we need to review that meet all sanitary conditions.

Therefore, from the Department of Health we are strengthening health controls on fair, both in the bars of Huerto de la Rueda, as installed in the urban area of ​​the city.

The mayor of Health has reportedly been carried out 15 inspections of bars and street stalls in the Garden Wheel, because they all have kitchens, so increasing the number of requirements that must be met.

In addition, they have also overseen the 12 bars that are installed in different places on the occasion of the fair day, and several catering establishments in the city center.

They are proven to all workers who are in contact with food have a food handler card;

establishments have a good cleaning and maintenance, especially kitchens and that have supply of hot and cold water to perform properly disinfect work surfaces and utensils.

It is also important that the raw materials with which the dishes are prepared are well labeled and can see its origin, for that proper follow about where purchase invoices and delivery notes are checked takes.

Ruiz Jodar, in this regard, stressed that all the bars of the fair that have been examined have passed health inspections successfully, so that the reports have been favorable.

From the Department we realize that, year after year, catering establishments look more for food security and are more aware of the importance this has on the health of its customers.

With these actions, which were also held in the bars of the "Fair Girl", from the city of Lorca, we want all people visiting the fair have an excellent facilities where you can have lunch or dinner and have a good time, something that also affects tourism these days come to enjoy our city and, above all, of our fair.
