The Mayor of Lorca presents the book "Words crossing the sea short stories murcianos immigrants in Córdoba.", Compiled by the Murciano Center Argentina Cordoba (04/10/2016)

The Mayor of Lorca, Francisco Jodar, participated yesterday in the presentation of the book "Words crossing the sea. Murcianos short stories immigrants in Córdoba", compiled by the Center Murciano Córdoba and was presented at the Palacio de Guevara.

In the same he was accompanied by the Minister of Presidency of the Autonomous Community, Maria Dolores Pagán, President Murciano Center in Cordoba, Gustavo Yepes, and the former secretary of it, Marisa Olguin.

"Words crossing the sea" includes 44 stories of immigrant origin in Cordoba Murcia.

This is a project with a distance of almost 10 years, that developed from a literary contests that were nurturing the Murciano Center valuable stories written by people up to 14 municipalities of the Region of Murcia.

Among them are stories that rescue the experiences of parents and grandparents, as well as the immigrants themselves today, so from the Murcia House decided to edit them in book form so that those experiences do not disappear.

The first edition was presented in October 2012 at the Evita Fine Arts Museum of Argentina.

In this second edition he has helped the Ministry of the Presidency.

Lorca Mayor said during the presentation that "having a book containing 44 testimonies of people who one day had to march is excellent news, because then everyone will have the opportunity to meet these experiences that are worth discovering. All authors, or their families, crossed one day the sea to Argentina. and now, thanks to this book again cross the Atlantic with a work full of memories and of that immense love for Lorca and throughout the Region of Murcia always show ".

The mayor gave his thanks to "Murciano Center in Cordoba on this initiative and want to share with us who receive" Words crossing the sea "with the excitement of having in our hands a book about our country, about ourselves and about neighbors who, despite the distance, never forget because they always remember us and remain proud Lorca despite the time and distance.
