The Ministry of Public Works will improve drainage of the Rambla de Viznaga Lorca (27/10/2016)

The Director of Roads, Jose Antonio Fernandez Lladó, announced today that it will conduct a performance improvement of drainage in the Rambla de Viznaga that will optimize the drainage of water occasionally accumulate on the runway.

Fernández Lladó made the remarks after visiting the promenade with the Councillor for Agriculture and Water of the City of Lorca, Angel Ramon Mecca, and experts from the Directorate General of Highways to assess the implementation of this work requested by the residents at the last meeting two weeks ago.

He said "the bed of the wadi is uneven and in some places the ground elevation is lower, resulting in a stagnation of water", which leads us to make a series of works that "bring more fluidity to the promenade and prevent these anomalies occur "

He also announced that the expansion works of drainage, collection and disposal of rainwater have been awarded for a total budget of 1,043,000 euros and its main objective is to double the drainage capacity and avoid damage to the effects and possible flooding .

To do this, the number of arches that support regional roads RM-11 (Lorca-Eagles) and RM-621 (Lorca Purias), crossing the boulevard of Viznaga, and the effects of heavy flooding will be avoided, as it will increase St. Wenceslas.

Specifically, 22 new frames will be built to facilitate the channeling and evacuation of rainwater, which add to the existing 21 frames in the two roads, doubling the current capacity of the boulevard.
