Lorca socialists believe that the idea is "fair with Lorca and necessary" to reinforce the fight against gender violence, providing the judiciary with more resources to improve the attention to women and families victims of this social scourge

The Municipal Socialist Group will present in the next plenary session a motion aimed at seeking the consensus of all political parties in support of the proposal that a few days ago presented the Illustrious Bar Association of Lorca, with the support of the Lorca judiciary, to achieve the Comarcalización of the court of gender violence of Lorca.

This has been announced by the PSOE councilor, Andrea Periago, who has praised this proposal, noting that "is fair with Lorca and necessary to strengthen judicial attention to women and families victims of gender violence."

Andrea Periago recalled that at present the court number 4 is responsible, in addition to dealing with cases of gender violence, the rest of matters that may occupy any court.

Should this comarcalization be achieved, Judge number 4 would be transformed into a specialized court only on issues of gender violence.

"One form ensures - with which to give it a greater predisposition to provide a better service to women and families who suffer this violence."

From the PSOE they consider that in addition, it is an initiative that "would avoid the present position of inequality with respect to Murcia and Cartagena".

Periago recalled that these cities already have these types of specialized courts, so to achieve this in Lorca "would mean an approach of this legal provision to Lorca and the municipalities of the region."

Therefore, next Monday the PSOE will bring to Plenary this initiative of the Bar Association of Lorca and the judiciary, requesting that the City of Lorca adhere to this proposal so that the Court n ° 4 of Lorca becomes an exclusive court Of gender-based violence issues.

The PSOE asks the PP to bet on the "unity of action" against gender violence and open the local table to other parties

The Socialist Group will claim in the plenary of the City of Lorca the need to implement as soon as possible a major State pact against gender violence.

Andrea Periago has assured that "only together will we be stronger to end this social scourge, that sega lives, destroys families and creates a feeling of collective failure unbearable."

In this sense, the PSOE will use in the plenary to demand that PP, if it really has the will to reach agreements to address this social problem, start by opening the local coordination table against gender violence to other parties represented in The City of Lorca.

Periago recalled that this body was created in 2012 and since its inception the PP blocked that the other parties could participate and collaborate in this forum.

"We do not understand that the PP is denying the will and the collaboration of those who reach out to work against gender violence," he said.
