The municipal budget for 2017 bets on social attention, consolidate the generation of employment and reduce the debt by another 8 million euros (16/12/2016)

The total amount stands at 73,697,595 euros, increasing the economic endowment for all areas of municipal management.

Lorca will be saved thanks to these accounts 2.6 million in taxes for the IBI general drops and water receipt.

The Councilor for Economy and Finance, Fulgencio Gil, has reported that the municipal budget for next year contemplates a rise in economic allocation to almost all municipal areas of management, highlighting increases by councils of 27.46% in Social Services, 32.86% in Education, 33.3% in road maintenance, 10.16% in Sports, 36.84% in Tourism, 79% in Citizen Participation and 14.11% in Employment, as the main examples.

Financial expenses, on the other hand, are cut sharply, in particular 53%, leading to a fall of 1,200,000 euros.

This measure is achieved through the completion of bank loans and the free disposal of policies, which are covered.

The Edil de Economía has emphasized that this is an ambitious budget, promoting and enhancing the activity of our municipality, increasing by 530,000 euros direct contributions by the Municipal Administration to social, neighborhood, cultural and Oenegés groups.

The main objectives are to help Lorca families, stimulate the labor market through training for the unemployed and consolidate the improvement of municipal accounts, especially municipal debt.

Fulgencio Gil has anticipated that the accounts comply with the principle of budgetary stability, we speak of balanced accounts, that comply with the spending rule and that they contemplate a surplus of 500,000 euros to deepen in the economic reorganization of the City council.

It is planned to reduce municipal debt by repaying a total of 8 million euros, placing it at approximately 39 million.

This data represents the achievement of one of the priority objectives for which we have been working rigorously for 10 years.

In 2007 the Lorca gave us their confidence to straighten the course of a City Council that, as we intuited, had a debt of 105 million euros that placed it in a situation of bankruptcy practice.

Today, almost a decade later, we have managed to cut 66 million euros, removing a real flagstone against all Lorca.

It is worth mentioning that during the next year a fall in the payment of interest of 52.79% is expected, which will lead to a notable relief of pressure towards the municipal coffers.

Thanks to these municipal accounts, Lorca will save 1.4 million euros in taxes, an advantage derived mainly from the 8% reduction of the Property Tax (IBI).

The improvement of the accounts also allows the municipal budget to include a private reserve of 650,000 euros as a contingency fund.

This is an amount that will be available for the City Council to deal with any extraordinary event that may arise during the next year.

The Councilman of Economy has indicated that the budget contemplates the investment necessary to continue providing the urban transport service, a task that the City was forced to assume for the resignation of the concessionaire company.

For this purpose a line of € 121,200 will be used.

The budget, divided by areas of government, is configured as follows:

Social Welfare and Employment: € 4 million

Security and Emergencies: € 3.1 million

Culture and Celebrations: 2.5 million €

Sports: 3 million

Urbanism and Housing: 1.2 million

Works, investments and urban maintenance: 10.1 million

Tourism: 1.1 million

Transport: € 121,200

Information Society: € 221,000

Citizen Participation: € 245,000

Health and Consumption: € 301,000

Sepor: € 330,323

The origin of the municipal revenues derives from the contribution of 21.8 million euros from the Government of Spain, 5 million from the CARM and 46.9 from own funds, which underlines the progressive self-financing capacity of the Local Administration .

The Consistory's general expenses for the start-up and maintenance of the public service and care facilities amount to a total of 43.36 million euros, including 25.18 million in personnel expenses, 3.5 for electricity supply, 900,000 For water supply and 2 million for other supplies (gas, telephony, fuel ...) The figure translates to the fact that opening the facilities of the multiple municipal areas entails a daily expense of 86,520.55 euros.
