"Art in gold and silks" by the photographer María José Ruiz becomes the poster of Holy Week of Lorca 2017 (21/12/2016)

The Mayor of Lorca, Francisco Jodar, along with María José Martínez, representative of the "La Caixa" Social Work, have announced the poster that will promote the Holy Week of Lorca in its edition of 2017. The winning poster has been the That took by name "Art in gold and silks", realized by the photographer lorquina Maria José Ruiz.

The jury of the Poster Contest of Holy Week 2017 met Tuesday morning under the chairmanship of the Councilor for Tourism of the City of Lorca, Francisco Montiel, and with the presence of Agustín Llamas, Councilor for Culture, María José Martínez, Joaquín Piernas, President of Hostelor, Juan Jiménez Asensio, director of the Municipal School of Plastic Arts, Eduardo Sánchez Abadíe, archivist, Bernardo Hernández de Producciones Syncroimagen, Fran García Franco de Agencia Creativa, and The coach of Tourism Diana Murcia.

In this edition competed 12 posters, of which 11 came from the municipal term of Lorca.

The winning poster was "Art in gold and silks", work of María José Ruiz, Lorca photographer.

Finalists were the posters "A Different World" by Pedro Gris Miñarro and "Riding a Passion" by Carmen Ros Ortuño.

The winning poster is inspired by the Lorca embroidery, a candidate to become an Intangible Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.

The winner will receive as a prize a check for the value of 1,000 euros donated by "La Caixa" Obra Social, an entity that sponsors this contest for the fifth consecutive year.

The presentation will take place next January during the inauguration of the exhibition in which all the works that have participated in the contest and which, according to the jury, have stood out for their quality making them very difficult to fault.

The winning poster will become the promotional image of the Holy Week of Lorca in the various fairs and tourist encounters in which the Department of Tourism of the City of Lorca.

He will also star in promotional events and publications related to the celebration of our "Different Passion".
